Documentarian Laura Poitras’ Citizenfour presents the
plight of Edward Snowden and, indeed, all who care about liberty and their
right to privacy.
The film is a bit overlong, but the takeaway is the old
Rodney King line, “Why can’t we just all get along?”
Everyone from Snowden to the U.S. and many other governments have broken
laws, so the best solution is to give everyone amnesty and start to have a
serious debate on what should or should not be allowed.
I give Citizenfour a 3+ out of 5, mostly
for its relevancy.
