Director Jason Zada’s The Forest
is a real sleeper, meaning it did put me into a stupor within 10 minutes with its
boring script by the trio of Nick Antosca, Sarah Cornwell and Ben Ketai.
When I came out of my nap, the manic
twin sister of a woman, who is lost in a strange Japanese forest where people
go to commit suicide, (Natalie Dormer plays both) goes into the forest without
any compass or gear to find her.
Of course, she dies and the lost
sister is found.
That’s the happy ending. No, really!
It’s some solace to the audience that had to endure her stupidity.
The poster is the best thing about this dumb film.
I give The Forest a 1 out of 5.
