Why Him?

Writer/Director John Hamburg along with Writers Jonah Hill and Ian Helfer have given us a post-Christmas gift with their ribaldly funny film Why Him?

The superb ensemble of Bryan Cranston, James Franco, Zoey Deutch, Megan Mullally and Keegan-Michael Key, backed up by Cedric the Entertainer, Griffin Gluck, Zack Pearlman and others makes this a laugh-out-loud comedy about a middle class/ Midwestern mom (Mullally), dad (Cranston) and brother (Gluck) being introduced to their daughter/sister’s (Deutch) unconventional Silicon Valley millionaire boyfriend (Franco) at Christmas time.

 

Franco’s character is trying to win over the family because he wants to propose to Deutch’s character and his estate manager (Key) attempts to guide his unguidable boss to success.

If you can handle salty language, you’ll totally enjoy this film. 

I give Why Him? a 4.3 out of 5 and thank everyone involved for relief from all the heavy drama at year’s end.
