Director Carlos Saldanha’s Ferdinand is an animated family
film that will delight the young-at-heart of all ages.
Ferdinand is a young runt Spanish bull, who would rather
smell the flowers than train to fight matadors in the Madrid arena.
Escaping from the farm after the death in the ring of his
gigantic father, he finds his way to a flower farm where he, ultimately, grows
to father’s size.
When a bee causes him to ruin a flower festival, he is re-captured
and returned to the training farm from which he had, originally, escaped.
Forced to train for the ring, he attempts to
escape again, this time with all the bulls.
I give this testament to flower power a 4.1 out of 5. Go and enjoy.
