Abominable

Writer/Director Jill Culton’s Abominable is adorable and, by its end, is some kind of wonderful.

A teenage Chinese girl named Yi (voice of Chloe Bennett) finds an escaped Yeti (v. of Joseph Izzo) that had been captured by wealthy Mr. Burnish (v. of Eddie Izzard).  Wanting to travel herself, Yi tries to take her Yeti friend back to Mt. Everest.  Her neighbor Jin (v. of Tenzing Norgay Trainor) and his cousin Peng (voice of Albert Tsai) join in and, pursued by the wicked Dr. Zara (v, of Sarah Paulson), the trio sets off on an adventure that becomes more and more engaging as it moves along.

The animation is outstanding and Culton’s script is a delight for the entire family.

I give Abominable a 4.3 out of 5.
