Like its predecessors, Director Olivier Megaton’s Taken
3 is an action-packed thriller where ex-CIA operative Bryan Mills (Liam
Neeson) is able to overcome all obstacles to protect his daughter (Maggie
Grace).
However, I must say that this wasn’t the story I was
expecting. From the way it was left at
the end of Taken 2, I expected the last of the Albanian family Mills wiped
out in the first two films would be at it again. But, this time, the threat is from a source
closer to home and Mills has to fight on home territory. And, that brings U.S. police forces into
play.
Though there are thrills galore in Writer/Producer Luc
Besson’s and Co-Writer Robert Mark Kamen’s script, Taken 3 does not have the
same gusto as its predecessors. But, it
does have Forest Whitaker as the main official tracking him down and his
presence offers great entertainment.
I give Taken 3 a 3+ out of 5.
