Director Tom McGrath’s The Boss Baby is a
wonderful family film which transforms the myth of how babies are born in a
very funny way.
Puppies are putting a crimp into the baby business and
Boss Baby (voice of Alec Baldwin) is sent into the family of the couple (voices
of Jimmy Kimmel and Lisa Kudrow), who work for the Puppy Company. His mission is to find out the stats on the new
puppy they’ve created. It’s his
interaction with their 7-year-old son (voice of Miles Christopher Bakshi) that
is the center of the story.
The script by Michael McCullers is amusing for both young
and old. It’s the quick asides,
sometimes off-camera that produce the best laughs and will, most likely, go
over the heads of the younger folks in the audience.
I thoroughly enjoyed The Boss Baby and give it a 4.6 out
of 5.
