Director Adam Shankman’s What Men Want is an often
hilarious comedy thanks to the talented Taraji P. Henson, who plays Ali Davis, the
only woman agent in a major Sports Agency.
Unable to move up in the agency due to rampant sexism, Ali
suffers a fall, after which she is able to hear the thoughts of men.
This sets off the fun and what, at first, seemed a rip-off
of Nancy Meyers’ turn-of-the-century What Women Want gets better and
better with its own unique turns thanks to the writing team of Tina Gordon,
Peter Huyck and Alex Gregory.
What
Men Want is enjoyable adult fare.
I give it a 4 out of 5.
