The only problem with Director Marc Foster’s Christopher
Robin is the film’s setup. This
is a movie for families with children and the long opening spends too much time
on things that really aren’t interesting to children and not even that necessary
for the adults, either.
Having too many writers (Alex Ross Perry, Tom McCarthy,
Allison Schroeder, Greg Brooker and Mark Steven Johnson) involved with the
script and story, may be the reason.
However, once Pooh and the other animals from the Ten
Acre Forest come on the scene, the film takes off and offers both young and old
a simply wonderful cinematic experience.
Ewan McGregor, Hayley Atwell and Bronte Carmichael create
a delightfully dysfunctional family to root for. And there are many wonderfully heartfelt
scenes along the way to their coming together.
I give Christopher Robin a 4.2 out of 5.
