Writer/Director Bo Burnham’s Eighth Grade is a
successful drama thanks to young actress Elsie Fisher, who allowed herself to
be filmed with all the “flaws” of a 13-year-old girl.
It’s the story of the awkward age most of us have
experienced in the transition from childhood to adolescence.
For that reason, despite its abundant humor, it is
sometimes very uncomfortable to observe; because it’s all too real.
I give Eighth Grade a 4 out of 5.
